#134 Illinois Education Foundation Scholarship
Award Amount
IEF Scholars receive a stipend award of up to $750 per semester. In addition, the IEF pays the remaining balance of tuition and fees, if any, after financial aid has been applied.

The Illinois Education Foundation seeks highly motivated students who have a goal in mind, are willing to work hard to achieve and could benefit from additional assistance.

APPLICANTS MUST:

1) Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA),
2) Pursue either an Associate Degree or an Advanced Certificate,
3) Submit the application, along with all supporting documentation, to the IEF by the deadline. Application can be found using the link to the Illinois Education Foundation website.

***The IEF has a current class of more than 100 scholars.***
Eligibility Criteria
• Must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit a copy of the SAR with application.

• Minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and in good standing; 2.5 GPA required for scholarship renewal.

• Must be a resident of the City of Chicago and eligible for in-district tuition rates.

• Must be a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) pursuing an Associate Degree or Advanced Certificate.

• Applicant must disclose any prior police record, which will not necessarily result in disqualification.

• Extracurricular activities and/or community service are not required, but will strengthen the application.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
• Completed scholarship applicaiton
• Letter of recommendation (from a non-relative)
• Essays (See IEF Scholarship Application)
• Student Aid Report (from a completed FAFSA)
• City Colleges of Chicago transcript to show completed coursework.

Any required remedial coursework must be completed prior to applying for this scholarship.

Candidates must first apply for any financial aid for which they are eligible. The scholarship will supplement these funds.
