| The Illinois Health Improvement Association Scholarship, which is funded each year by a grant from the Illinois Community College System Foundation, provides financial assistance to deserving students enrolled in healthcare programs that provide direct medical care to individual patients. Scholarship monies may be applied toward tuition, fees, books, study guides or other expenses directly related to the heath field curricula while enrolled at the City Colleges of Chicago.

Eligibility Criteria
• Minimum 2.5 GPA and in good standing in your program.
• Must be a resident of the City of Chicago and eligible for in-district tuition rates.
• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester. See attached eligible health care programs(scholarship will be pro-rated for part-time students).
• Must be already admitted in an eligible health care program (See Scholarship Documents section above).
• Committed in his/her intent to complete a health career program and, following completion, to practice in the State of Illinois or in an area out of state directly benefiting Illinoisans (i.e., a city near the Illinois border where Illinoisans go for primary healthcare).
• At least one recommendation must be from a health/medical department faculty member.
• Demonstrated financial need; however, middle income students will also be considered. |
