Scholarship applicants who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens must fill-out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at www.fafsa.ed.gov, and complete the financial aid process.
NOTE: Applicants must complete a FAFSA and include their SAR (student aid report) with their application.
The Aspire a Mas Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 by the cooperative efforts of Richard J. Daley College and the CompuCredit Corporation of Atlanta GA. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to deserving Hispanic/Latino students. Scholarship monies are to be used to defray educational costs while enrolled at Daley College or the Arturo Velasquez West Side Technical Institute.
Eligibility Criteria
• Must have at least one parent of Hispanic/Latino descent.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and in good standing.
• High school or GED graduate.
• Must be a resident of the City of Chicago and eligible for in-district tuition rates.
• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester.
• Pursuing an associates degree or any vocational certificate program.
