Scholarship applicants who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens must fill-out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at www.fafsa.ed.gov, and complete the financial aid process. NOTE: Applicants must complete a FAFSA and include their SAR (student aid report) with their application.
Immigrant and undocumented students must be pre-qualified under the Scholarship Qualification Process prior to applying for this scholarship.

| The Oscar E. Shabat Wright College Scholarship Fund was established to honor Dr. Oscar E. Shabat, founding chancellor of the City Colleges of Chicago and former professor of Social Sciences at Wright College. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance for deserving students based upon scholastic merit (exclusive of financial need) or based upon financial need. Scholarship monies are to be used to defray educational costs (tuition, fees, or books) while enrolled at Wilbur Wright College or Humboldt Park Vocational Education Center (HPVEC). In rare cases, scholarship funds may be used as matching funds (maximum $250 one-time scholarship) to pay a prior balance at Wright College or HPVEC.

Eligibility Criteria • Minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (2,690 points for GED graduates) and in good standing.
• High school or GED graduate.
• Must be a resident of the City of Chicago and eligible for in-district tuition rates.
• Enrolled in at least 3 credit hours per semester. Part-time students are eligible.
• Pursuing an associate degree or any vocational certificate program. |

Scholarship committee will review all applications submitted.
If used to pay a prior tuition balance, the scholarship will match the payment made by the student up to $250.
