Scholarship applicants who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens must fill-out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at www.fafsa.ed.gov, and complete the financial aid process. NOTE: Applicants must complete a FAFSA and include their SAR (student aid report) with their application.
Immigrant and undocumented students must be pre-qualified under the Scholarship Qualification Process prior to applying for this scholarship.

The President's scholarship fund provides financial assistance to defray educational costs (including tuition, fees, books and other associated costs)to Malcolm X College students who demostrate academic excellence. Eligible awardees must maintain full-time enrollment status.

Eligibility Criteria NEW STUDENT(students with 0-12 credit hours)
• Completed application.
• 3.0 cumulative grade point average in high school (incoming students), college (returning students) or minimum GED score of 2660 (incoming students).
• Typed essay identifying career goals.
• Three (3) letters of recommendation from teachers, employers, ministers or community representatives.
AWARD NOT TO EXCEED $500
CONTINUING STUDENTS (Over 12 credit hours completed)
• Completed application.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
• Typed essay identifying career goals.
• Three (3) letters of recommendation from faculty members, employers, ministers or community representatives.
AWARD NOT TO EXCEED $750
