Scholarship applicants who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens must fill-out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at www.fafsa.ed.gov, and complete the financial aid process.
NOTE: Applicants must complete a FAFSA and include their SAR (student aid report) with their application.
Immigrant and undocumented students must be pre-qualified under the Scholarship Qualification Process prior to applying for this scholarship.
The Harold Washington College Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance for deserving students based upon scholastic merit (exclusive of financial need) and/or based upon financial need. Scholarship monies are to be used to defray educational costs (tuition, fees, books, transportation, or other critical necessities) while enrolled at Harold Washington College. This scholarship may be renewable depending on eligibility criteria and funding availability. In rare cases, scholarship funds may be used as matching funds (Harold Washington College Scholarship Fund would match a student’s payment up to a maximum of a $250 one-time scholarship) to help pay a prior balance at Harold Washington College.
Eligibility Criteria
• Minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and in good standing.

• Meets City Colleges of Chicago’s ability to benefit (ATB) criteria (i.e., high school or GED graduate or sufficient ATB test score).

• Must be a resident of the City of Chicago and eligible for in-district tuition rates.

• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester.

• Pursuing an associate degree or any credit certificate program.
