| The Humboldt Park Vocational Education Center (HPVEC) Scholarship Fund was established to provide scholarships for deserving students who are in need of financial assistance to complete their studies at HPVEC. Scholarship awards are generally allocated as partial tuition rather than full scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded primarily to existing students to be applied towards current or future tuition or, in rare cases, as matching funds (maximum $250 one-time scholarship) to pay a prior balance at HPVEC.

Eligibility Criteria
• Only currently enrolled or students enrolling at Humboldt Park Vocational Education Center are eligibile.
• Must be in good standing.
• Resident of the City of Chicago and eligible for in-district tuition rates.
• Pursuing any vocational certificate program and/or enrolling in credit or continuing education classes.
• Decisions will be based on the financial need of the student as acertained via the required scholarship essay and reviewed by the scholarship committee.
• Academic merit will only be used in the event of a tie or if there are too many applicants.

Instructors from all applicable programs may nominate or refer students to one of HPVEC’s college advisors, Ms. Barbara Krzewinska, Ms. Carmen Hernandez or Mr. Marc Smierciak, at the main office.
Students are encouraged to contact Ms. Krzewinska, Ms. Hernandez, Mr. Smierciak or their instructor if they wish to be considered for a scholarship.
Completed applications will be submitted to Associate Dean Marc Smierciak, (773) 489-8989, msmierciak@ccc.edu, and then reviewed by the scholarship committee.
